Netherrealm's Mortal Kombat
Ed Boon, John Vogel, John Tobias and Dan Forden got together and worked pretty hard in designing and producing the first Mortal Kombat game in 1991. This team of four laid foundation to a series of games that have reached the epitome of popularity. Every sequel has added a new feather to its hat.
Mortal Kombat has a history of gore and gruesome gameplay with the characters fighting each other with only one aim- Finish or kill your opponent and win the Mortal Kombat. The original Mortal Kombat had no story attached to it but with the rise of story based games the creators of Mortal Kombat designed their own myth. The myth of Mortal Kombat is that the Elder Gods divide the world indifferent realms and decreed that a realm could conquer another realm by defeating the defenders of the respective realm. The Thunder God Raiden is the patron and defender of the Earth Realm. The Earth realm has been defeated nine times in Mortal Kombat and the only chance to preserve them from servitude to the OutWorld is to win the tenth and most crucial Mortal Kombat.
